5 killed, 12 houses burnt in Jos crisis Dailynaijamode Some of the houses burnt during the crisis at Gudum Fulani PHOTOS: Balarabe Alkassim The Plateau State Police Command yesterday confirmed five persons were killed and 12 houses burnt in a sectarian crisis in Jos on Sunday. The crisis, caused by the discovery of a boy’s corpse between Anguwan Damisa and Dutse-Uku, sparked a riot in parts of Rikkos, Cele-Bridge, Tina Junction and Anguwan Rukuba in Jos North. Youths went on the rampage, attacking perceived rivals, damaging vehicles and setting houses ablaze. The intervention of security agents had contained the situation, but our correspondents gathered that gunshots were heard all throughout the night within the general area. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tyopev Terna identified the discovered corpse as that of one Enoch, deposited at the Plateau Specialist Hospital.
