Operatives of EFCC, Advance Fee Fraud Section, Abuja Headquarters in collaboration with men from the Benin Zonal Office in an operation on Friday 17, 2019 arrested 22 suspected internet fraudsters during an early morning raid at Sapele, Delta State. Working on intelligence reports, the suspects, who are between the ages of 18 to 30 years, were smoked out from their hideout in an early morning operation. A day earlier, the operatives from Abuja had arrested two suspected internet fraudster in Ughelli, Delta State. Items recovered from the suspects include lap top computers, iPhones, phones, ATM cards and three exotic vehicles. The cars are Benz C350, Benz ML 350 and Chrysler 300. The raid on the internet fraudsters is one in the series by operatives of the Commission in line with the directive of the acting Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ibrahim Magu to rid the entire country of internet fraud and cyber crime.

Waheed Adekola,popularly known as Ege, the band captain, of Ibadan-based ace musician, Dr Yinka Ayefele, is dead. According to a reliable source, he died on Friday morning after he complained of body pains when the band returned from an outing last weekend. Since then, he had remained indoors, apparently, undergoing treatment. The news of Ege’s death came as a shock to the musical band currently out of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for an outing.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Benin Zonal office, has arrested four officials of Port Health Service of the Federal Ministry of Health, Benin City, the Edo State capital over e-yellow fever travel card racketeering. They were arrested in a sting operation, sequel to a petition in which the petitioner alleged that her aged mother who was to travel to Europe visited the Benin Office of Port Health Service to procure the e-yellow fever travel card, but rather than lead her through the proper procedure, she was convinced to pay N10,000 to obtain the card instantly. However, trouble began at the time of boarding her flight at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, when it was discovered that her e-yellow card did not have the Remita Retrieval Receipt Reference Identity. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) community in Kogi State was thrown into mourning on Friday following the news that the Kogi State Coordinator of the Corps, Mrs. Oludolapo Ahile, died in a ghastly auto crash. The Assistant Director, Public Relations, Kogi NYSC, Mr Adedapo Tayo, told journalists in Lokoja on Friday that the coordinator was involved in a ghastly accident alongside her husband, Michael, on Keffi-Akwanga-Lafia highway in Nasarawa State. According to Tayo, the accident occurred at Lafia axis of the highway at about 2pm on Thursday, May 16, after her vehicle suddenly somersaulted twice and veered into the bush while all the tires were intact. Tayo added that the late coordinator and her husband with two other occupants were on their way to Tiv land in Benue State for the burial of her father in-law. He said that all the four occupants of the vehicle were rushed to Lafia Specialist Hospital but regretted that, “unfortunately, Ahile died in the early hours of Frid
